  Today is Flag Day and whether you realize it or not, there is a code of conduct for the use and disposal of the United States Flag. We have our traditions when it comes to the flag such as saluting it or putting our hand over our hearts as it is raised or passes by in a parade, but have you ever thought about what not to do with the flag and how it is not to be used? Well, today I’m going to teach you both flag etiquette and the dos and don’t of how to handle our precious flag.  I learned the do's and don'ts of handling the flag while growing up with my father as a mentor, and teacher. He was also the commander of the VFW Post 9592, and Commander of the American Legion, Post 1711 throughout my childhood.
